No carpets either, or dash. Some rust under there, but not much.
One of the previous owners had also installed his own soundproofing using newspaper. I think it was owned by someone very cheap at some point. Needless to say that won't be making a recurrence.

But wait what?! Is there even a point to have sound deadening in a convertible? Screw that and save some weight!
Otherwise looking good! That rust doesn't look too serious, judging from the pics. Thinking you will be able to just grind it down without replacing any metal?

Absolutely none. There's some deadening panels under the fleece bit at the back which I might replace when it's painted, just to save on some vibrations. Other than that, it'll be pretty much unsilenced.
I've been impressed throughout by the lack of serious rust. Some of the outer panels were pretty bad, but it looks like all the insides have been properly cavity waxed so they've survived well.
I'll try grinding it down, but if I go straight through it it's not that much of a problem. I'll just crack out the welder again.

No soundproofing, so seats, no problem! Right?

If it was a Chrysler product I would say it left the factory that way. But 'tisn't.
